Indian Handicapped Welfare Association (a NGO) was established in 1980 By Sh.Parveen Bahl. The main object of this Association is to look into the Problems and welfare of handicapped persons.

Since then, this organization has been working with and for the Handicappeds over the last 22 years. More than 5000 handicapped people frorn all over Haryana/Rajasthsn have benefited through this association. Around 98% of these people were economically and/or socially backward classes.

Most of them were not fortune enough to be educated. We have come across almost every kind of social struggle a handicapped individually has to go through. In January 1998 this association started to work for training, rehabilitation and lighting for handicapped constittutionals rights under the guidance of Mr. D.P.Sharma. Mr. Sharma is assisting to the handicapped’s constitutional rights under self employment, providing the help to get the benefits provided by the government. The educational/ training and rehablitation institute at Jaipur Rajasthan.This institution will mainly provide the high quality and latest technology training to the handicapped and other backward people of the society.This institution will also open a seperate cell for the rpoviding the placement facilities to the trained people in and out side of the organisation and in government, private sectors etc.

In the last year alone IHWA has taken up the project for candle making,canning and small kikoos.We are pleased to inform that around 15 handicapped people have been trained and rehabilitated within Gurgaon district last year itself.

Till date we havenot used any govt. Grants and loand.Mosst of the money required for the day to day functioning comes from the contribution of its mamber.

All this has been posssible because of the able leadership of its president and founder.Mr. Preveen Bhal.He is a national award winner and a handicapped himself. Presently he is working as an Asst. Manager in a bank at Gurgaon.Regional branch of IHWA at Jaipur also has not been taken any grant from the government.Mr. DP Sharma (B.Sc.,M.C.A.,M.Tech.(C-Certcon)),President is running the association activities in Rajasthan with the help of the finencial assitance of his own and the member of the association.he is himself handicapped.

We have a strong advising group in form of the members and patrons of the organisation.The guidance and support of these prominent members of our association has played an important role in helping us to achive our objectives.Their understanding of the problems of Handicapped in spite of being normal individuals in commendable.

In short,this is an organisation of the handicapped people working for the interests of handicapped people and lead mainly by the handicapped people.
