As
in the most of other fields, we lack any comprehensive policy in
the field of urban/ rural development. Not only it has led to the
chaotic development of our urban centers, it has also created a
unique imbalance in the rural sector. Needless to say, the most
important victim of this chaotic planning has been the agricultural
sector. The migration from the rural to the urban and from urban
to the metropolises has left a deep scar on the rural economy. A
somewhat belated attempt to correct this wrong has been started
by a large number of organizations with great success. The most
practical solution to this problem would have been creating more
jobs in the rural sector and making our urban areas more planned.
Efforts taken in this direction forms the main thrust of this section.
